Celerity

By drawing power from the blood, a vampire can move many times faster than what would be possible for a human. This supernatural speed provides an advantage in battle, or when fleeing from it. However, the power comes with its flaws as it risks enormous consequences if used in places where people could witness its effects.

Level 1

Level 2

Fleetness

By focusing their energy for a moment, the character can move at lightning speed outside of combat before others can react. The effect is short-lived, but enough to get a head start or, for that matter, catch someone trying to leave the room.

Cost: +1 hunger

System: The player shouts "freeze" followed by their Celerity level. Everyone else in the room must pause what they are doing and stand still for five seconds per level of the discipline while the character can act freely. This time cannot be used for fine manipulation, such as picking up an item or stealing something from another character, but can be used to escape the room, tackle another character, or the like. Other people with Celerity can reflexively activate the discipline themselves to reduce the time they are affected by five seconds per level of the discipline.

Rapid reflexes

The character can move faster and react more swiftly to information in battle than what is otherwise possible. They can attack at lightning speed, dodge attacks in a fraction of a second, and otherwise maximize the use of their supernatural speed.

Cost: None for first level. +1 hunger for all higher levels.

System: The character gets +2 AV per level of Celerity, but they can choose how high a level they activate.

Level 3

Blink

The character can focus the discipline to briefly move faster than the eye can see. This is useful for running away from battles or just moving really fast.

Cost: +1 hunger

System: In combat, the character can use the power instead of initiating a freescape as normal. The player then says “celerity:blink” and automatically succeeds on their freescape immediately instead of having to compare AV and get damaged as normal.
